Hi guys, Just to let you know that now that parliament is back in session a little project which I have been working on is now starting to work properly.
I have done some work on http://www.edms.org.uk - that's Early Day MotionS I'd be grateful if people could give me some *constructive* criticism and not just berate me for giving EDMs more air time than they're worth! I know the design isn't exactly flash so if anyone wants to contribute a nicer logo I will gladly receive it! Matt Here's the spiel from the site: This website provides an alternative interface to the government portal, it aims to provide more detail and to make the information more accessible. The information is obtained by screen scraping the government portal and is available for further reuse through XML and RSS. Why duplicate the government portal? In my opinion the government portal is not easy to use, it does not provide easy access to the full extent of it's information. There is also no facility to download raw data or follow motions using RSS feeds. MP ids on the government portal have also been linked to those used by the parlparse project. Why waste your time with EDMs? Contributing to EDMs may not be the most useful thing that an MP does, but they provide constituents with an insight into what their representative is spending their time on and what issues they take an interest in. By adding EDMs to the picture of what an MP is doing a constituent is more able to hold their representative to account. _______________________________________________ Mailing list [email protected] Archive, settings, or unsubscribe: https://secure.mysociety.org/admin/lists/mailman/listinfo/developers-public
