Hi all, I'm very happy to let you know that we've just pulled the wraps off a new project to help people in Central and Eastern Europe who want to build and grow their own transparency and democracy sites.
http://cee.mysociety.org We're doing this in conjunction with the Open Society Institute and the plan is to find people or organisations with great ideas for locally appropriate projects and then help them to make them into real bits of technology that really matter to local people. In order to pick projects we're running a call for proposals (CfP) just like we did for our own projects recently, but this time it is the applicants who we expect to build projects. mySociety's role will be to give winners of the CfP advice, support, encouragement, tech knowledge and other know-how , whilst OSI will supply the funding crucial to actually getting good sites and mobile services built. In order to run this project we've contracted our Estonia based WhatDoTheyKnow.com volunteer Tony Bowden who has been doing a great job getting every ready to start accepting proposals. I know Tony wants me to ask you all to send the project URL to anyone you think might be interested, so please do help. Here's the URL again: http://cee.mysociety.org all the best, Tom _______________________________________________ Mailing list [email protected] Archive, settings, or unsubscribe: https://secure.mysociety.org/admin/lists/mailman/listinfo/developers-public
