The Cambridge tech security boffins at the Computer Labs wrote this post the other day that casually mentioned they screenscraped, erm, 269 million entries in order to obtain a list of names which "is the largest such dataset ever assembled and may have many uses outside of security research, which we are happy to provide it for." http://www.lightbluetouchpaper.org/2010/03/04/evaluating-statistical-attacks-on-personal-knowledge-questions/ The ethics sort of boggles the mind, I don't know what to think.
