Playing devil's advocate:
In a crazy, crazy way, it can be argued that these people have already
opted in to the entire world knowing their names; after all , they've
ticked/failed to tick Facebook's privacy options. It's arguably no
worse than using phonebooks to compile such lists, although it is on a
much greater scale. I am intrigued as to whether an ethics committee
was involved, though.
