As a first time candidate I was a the vote count for the first ever time... And I saw that each party had a load of people each doing the exact same thing collecting info for their party. Really I think this info should be open - the returning officer or some such should collect and distribute it. But failing that, having 'democracy club' bods at the count collecting info an publishing it 'open source' would be a real service to UK democracy (particularly for smaller parties!). Loads of issues around impartiality and reliability etc, but a great opportunity for 'real people' to oversee the process...
