I'm presuming (hoping) that it'll use something like this API: http://www.w3.org/TR/html-media-capture/, which is still very much a working draft. Hopefully Apple will implement it at some point too - in some way they're the ones leading the move away from user-accessible filesystems, and more towards personal 'libraries' of photos and media.
