Hi Matt, This sounds great & I would love to come along, but I can't. Unfortunately there's a mysociety retreat over that weekend so few of the usual suspects will be available.
In terms of datasets... One dataset that's not publicly licensed but I expect you could get permission to use is the Modern Antiquarian, e.g. see http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/googleEarth/ There's also the SMRs for all the counties listed here: http://www.heritagegateway.org.uk/Gateway/CHR/, many of which have an HER interface: http://www.heritagegateway.org.uk/gateway/advanced_search.aspx Seb On 10 December 2010 12:55, Matt Patterson <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello there, > > I'm organising History Hackday -- 22-23 January 2011, at The Guardian, > http://historyhackday.org/ -- Obviously, mySociety's remit involves a lot of > history, so I thought that emailing you to let you know about it and request > your help would be sensible.
