Hi all,
I'm working on a platform for didactor (same software used on ROC zeeland
website). I'm having a few problems with broadcasting database changes.
Didactor runs on mmbase 1.7.1. We're using tomcat 5.5.
Our setup is quite simple, there are two load balancers running ha.d and
ipvsadm, which round-rob persistent connections to two 'worker' machines.
Database setup is not redundant yet. Once didactor v2 is out it should be.
(If anybody knows of some ready mmbase db redundancy module I'm sure the
didactor people would appreciate it... You can send me some hints on this
too.)
Once a worker machine makes an update to the database a broadcast is made,
and received; I can see it with tcpdump on both worker machines. I believe I
have probably made some configuration error in mmbaseroot.xml perhaps.
Documentation on clustering mmbase nodes seems quite sparse. I would
appreciate some help on setting this up.
All the best, Conrado Buhrer.

100% useless message from me, i agree with Nico multicast should work there is also
a special version made by ic&s for kennisnet that works better in large setups (search the
mail achive) based on jgroups.

The main reason for my messsage is to show you my mmbase cluster

Now only 2 machines but soon 4 of them with 8 of the same cute boxes. not the fastest cluster in the world
but good for testing.

I will start work on more cluster features in/ontop of mmbase soon supported by Kennisnet (first focus is mmbob
clusters) first step was to have a small cluster i my home.

If any other company wants to hire/pay me to work on this or any other fun project i still have some time in the last few
months of this year.

Greetings,

Daniel.

PS: sorry for not being part of the developers community (not on the list/voting/irc) for a few months i needed some distance
for a while but im back on the job. Please don't see this as a disrespect to the other programmers on the mmbase project.
