I agree with all your decisions. I think the adaptions to Cache and MMObjectNode can be made in the 'cache project' (as the pluggability itself was created in the scope of that project too). Perhaps a vote to create a new application is needed (for which little reason to oppose can exist, I suppose), so if it comes to that, you'll have my +1.
