I think this is perfectly ok for the startup phase, and maybe for
later too ;-)
We will see what happens, from what i understand there is a feeling
of acting 'fast' and 'slow' at the same time in that within these
meetings time will be spend on solving problems _now_ (for example
for 1.8) but also creating space within the community to plan for the
next few years.
If this works ok and we see results i personally think its good to
have some election method simply because thats the way we developers
do our thing. The main reason for the question 'do we need a vote' is
not too put in too much time in this stage and create more overhead.
