Probably yes, because that will be much better possible. Since we can then move stuff around without loosing history or breaking the build in older versions (which would happen if we simply moved stuff 'on the server'). But though this is essentially unrelated to the migration itself, you're indeed right to suspect that this is part of the hidden agenda.
