We allready talked about this on irc, but it's good to state it here....let's wait untill after the 1.6.1 release.

At any rate, you will need to call a vote, which takes three (work) days.

It could, possibly, be added to a 1.6.2 release (available end of feb?), if the chance is then rigorously tested (after all, we make a quite drastical change to a very often used routine).

It must be tested more, but IMHO it's a performance bug. But maybe it's better to call a vote, because it's rather a big change in the 1.6 branch.

Who tested it allready?
