Especiall when you are importing (for instance) checkboxes, which we do on several sites. In those cases you need the array.
I also find the attribute rather limited in usage - when properly implemented, you would fathom being able to ask for the first, last, or a specific element from the list (more a 'arrayindex' attribute than a lastofarray attribute).
Definitely not 'false or 'true', and certainly not with a default value that breaks the original behavior.
