I do not know of such a 'toggle' button.

IMHO, a real good 'rich' editor should not need this, and should simply
disallow creating a mess. An ideal 'wysiwyg' style editor is perhaps a
product like 'LyX' which for example simply refuses to create a new
paragraph if the current one is empty, and refuses to add a space if there
is one already. Which makes a lot of sense (mind-boggleing that we don't
encounter this kind of features in main stream 'word processors')

But since something like this is still missing and is undoubtly a lot harder
to make, feel free to contribute a 'toggle' button :-)
