It won't fix the mmbase code but it wil work for indenting and unused imports etc.
I ranchackstyle  ( http://checkstyle.sourceforge.net/ ) against mmbase using the sun 
coding standards.. that produced 25 MB of html reports :)

(I now have narowed it so it's "only" 10 MB)

and

gives us a view of what classes really need deletion :)
