I don't like the idea of calling other classes than the bridge. If more functionality is needed, e.g. for a forum, my approach is to build this on top of the bridge (using a framework like struts for exampele) instead of making the bridge/taglibs call other classes. I think it would be better to put time in making the taglibs compatible with JSTL. Just my opinion. :)
