Hi,

One of the reasons to start a sourceforge project is that we would like to
integrate some of the existing
tools into a GUI for MMBase developers. I think we should first try to make
these tools succesfull. We can always move to the MMBase codebase in the
future.
Also, Finalist is using this tool very heavily and is developed by several
people. They would all have to become MMBase commiters, which wouldn't be
very practical in my opinion.
I think for now it will be more efficient and practical to start on
sourceforge.
So maybe referencing from the MMbase.org site would be enough for now?

cheers,

Rudie Ekkelenkamp.

Of course I'm very glad with this initiative.

But could we not incorporate these kind of things in the current MMBase CVS
applications module or so? Perhaps that would make it easier to e.g. ship
something like this together with the 1.8 distro or so.

I'm not sure how the apps2 project is thinking about this, but it seems
unlikely that it will be possible with source-forge to provide it as an
apps2 ?

I would be +1 for starting a few 'projects' (UML2MMBase, MMBaseDeveloper),
makin Rudie committor and let them create/maintain the stuff with MMBase CVS
and make it downloadable from mmbase.org itself.

At the very least something must be thought of to make this kind of mmbase
plugins appear on the mmbase-site as well.
