Hello fellow crusaders,
I think we all have to take a good look at the document and for every example given, give our own example on how this is absolute nonsens.
page 9, microsoft's mouse:
Here it is said that it is an invention on innovating the mouse. The software is to activate the new mouse, and thus patantable...
To all of us it is very obvious that there is no innovation needed on the mouse. We already receive the on-mousedown and onmouse-up events, therefor the innovation is purely a usability improvement, which solely resides in the software, and no expensive R&D is needed. The fact that this 'invention' is called a plausible patent prospect, is worrying and illustrates the fact that software patents are a bad idea in all cases.
Maybe if we are able to make use of all examples given to illustrate that patents are a bad idea, we still can change the tide....
going to read further now....

Hello all, The Dutch ministry of economic affairs just released a letter to parliament. Dutch only. http://www.ez.nl/upload/docs/Kamerbrieven/PDF-Documenten/4038469-vtk.pdf In this letter they state (page 15), that all 30.000 granted patents by epo should gain an international legal status. Have a look at http://webshop.ffii.org to get an idea. Please help to tell all members of Dutch parliament and our government that this is a very, very thoughtless point of view. I will of course do the same. Kind regards, Jo.
