Exactly. I used MTR to monitor the connectivity to a random host on the 
internet as I saw everything was damn slow and I had many drops to all the 
hops, including my gateway (which shouldn't happen at all!). I am connected via 
wireless, that's why I referred to the new wifi driver. Load average was fine 
and my cacti didn't show any spikes during the time of the problem. The problem 
persists until now and repeats every once in a while. That's the card I have on 
my laptop:

It's running in mixed g/n mode but I'll try to switch it to G only as I have a 
couple of devices not N compliant.
