But the Qt4's systray works properly in this same version of Unity (I just tested myself).
The issue you linked to is a different one, and the post is old and doesn't work - you can't white-list anything any longer in Unity (desktop > unity > panel doesn't exist in dconf), so it's certainly a Qt5+ issue.
