I don't agree. There's convenience when there are a lot of out-of-line functions, or even no inlines. The fact that MSVC continues to be a bad optimiser is not a new problem. Its optimisation quality has been stuck in the late 2000s level. People can choose a better compiler if they have a problem with this.
