I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I did do the lsmod, rmmod previously, but I failed
to change the device in flexbackup. I will try to do this tonight or tomorrow (The
tax man calls) and let you know the results.
Thanks,
JB

John, in your current machine it appears you have an Adaptec
scsi controller. If this is true you may wish to set the
ide tape drive to use /dev/ht0.
You mentioned you tried changing the flexbackup.conf device
but this didn't work at all. There is much more you need
to do....
To use /dev/ht0 you need to make sure all scsi tape modules
are removed. Use the lsmod (list module) command to see
what is currently loaded, then remove the scsi modules
using rmmod (remove module) if they are present.
lsmod
rmmod ide-scsi
rmmod st
lsmod
Next load the ide-tape module using insmod (install module)
command:
insmod ide-tape
lsmod
Test by issuing a simple mt command:
mt -f /dev/ht0 status
There is much more to do but why don't you report back with
how this went before we continue.
Regards,
Darrell
