Thanks everyone for your comments and concerns.
Since it was in part my decision to terminate Darrell's Partnership, let me
speak up. I'm constrained in what I say largely because I want to do
Darrell the honor of protecting his privacy in this.
First, in response to John, we would never publicly disclose that we were
terminating a Partner agreement. Darrell himself publicly announced this to
the dev-info group.
We terminated the business Partnership betwen Darrell and e-smith for
reasons related to that business partnership. It's not a decision to be made
lightly but under certain circumstances, it's necessary. I have no doubt
about the rightness of this decision in this case.
Darrell has a separate relationship with us as a member of our open source
community. We've always appreciated his contributions to the open source
community and sincerely welcome his continued participation if he decides to
remain.
I hope this closes this topic!
