Hi
I have my e-smith-4.1.1 box working great with dyndns.org I have been
testing using e-smith to recieve emails directed to my domain directly and
when I am online it works great. My question is when I am offline my my gets
forwarded to my backup mx which is a qmail box at my isp. I know qmail has
some time function way of continuing to try send the emails to my box with
the retries increasing in length between them each time. How does the backup
mx know when I am online. I can connect and continue to recieve but I have
been getting bounce messages from the e-smith general forum saying that my
mail has been returned. I have heard about serialmail and was wondering if i
needed to use this to collect whatever mail has been stored at my backup mx.
I have a dialup and cannot spend long periods online. What does my isp have
to do to support me in this ?

Any info would be great as I need to be sure this method of recieving mail
works properly.

Regards
Dean
