I think the problem is the following..


Win2K go to e-smith to attach to printer

E-Smith send back "I have a printer - don't know what type for your driver"

Win2K gets the message and tries to find a  local "Don't know what type of
printer" driver, of course no such driver exists and Win2k get horribly
confused. Pops up dialog trying to find Printer drivers for "*.inf" etc.
>From that point everything stops.

If I can set the printer informations that printer 1 is a Canon LBP 8 II and
printer 2 is an Epson Stylus EPS/2 then everything will be fine, or that
they return back a Null for a printer type.


Hopefully this will mean something to Dan or Trevor

In Samba 2.0.7 it returns back an 'Null' printer driver type and Win2K can
handle that and the local printer can then be selected from the list of
available drivers.
