I don't take it quite that way. Samba docs say: "This parameter specifies the home directory location when a Win95/98 or NT Workstation logs into a Samba PDC. [snip] This parameter can be used with Win9X workstations to ensure that roaming profiles are stored in a subdirectory of the user's home directory." Emphasis on the can be used. This doesn't say that it will force Win9x users to use Roaming profiles or Local profiles, just that it *can* be used to put the profiles in the user's home directory. logon path, on the other hand, is strictly for Win NT/2K Roaming profiles, so it makes sense that, if there is a value present, samba should tell the client to make the user account roaming. Unfortunately, I can't really test this one out for Win9x, as I have no experience with roaming profiles on that OS. David M.
