I think you could try to insmod -f sm200_lnx.o even in 2.2.19 (SME5 kernel) I used Skymedia 200D a couple years ago and I'm sure I forced their module into different kernel versions. Also, the IP I put in their config file was my land ip address, static in that occasion. If you cannot obtain a static ip, I think that SkyData should be restarted at every ip change.
