Try running phpmyadmin in an ibay and uploading a database script.

Same problem with myPHPNuke in an IBAY. We have a function that allows 
you to
add an .sql script into your database. It does not work with the sandbox
feature either.

I'll amend it to say that "most of the PHP scripts my company uses." I do
believe that if you visit hotscripts.com though, and were to poll the PHP
scripts there, most (better than 50%) utilize databases.
