Okay, I took a break and went back. I happened to notice the link on the page before the howto html page. Darrell, may I offer a suggestion - when you refer to a file in your how-to, can you make it a hyperlink please? :)
Now I have it both on my SME server and my notebook. I cannot get the update- system page to find the user-manager-pkg file using lynx. I am assuming I am still doing something wrong. I am not that familiar with lynx, so I believe it is my lack of familiarity with that program that is causing my difficulties. Once again, if this is not appropriate here, I will take it to the experienced users forum. I just want to make sure it isn't something in the howto or the update-system contrib that may be messing me up.
