Best way of learning (for me) was getting a couple of books, some on "learning perl" and some perl "dictionary/reference" books (the really thick/fat ones), this way you read the "learning perl" books and when you have a question about a certain function you look it up on the "dictionary/reference" books. Also look at some ones scripts, try to tranlate the perl code to human language, may not be easy at first, but you get the hang of it. Sorry don't have some book titles right now.
