This isn't a bug but it might affect someone else here
so I'll mention it. Pre-5.5 apache only listened on the
addresses configured in the SME interface. After an
update to 5.5 it listens on all addresses unless set up
as a private server and gateway. Since the built-in proxy
setup did not handle mapping virtual servers to the
root of an 'inside' server I had added an IP alias and
separate httpd instance to handle this and had to tweak
things a bit to keep the upgrade from breaking it.
