Something else that folk might want to consider, if they need to share 
contact lists between Outlook installations, is "Net Folders" under 
Outlook 2000/2002.

Essentially, it's a publish/subscribe mechanism by which updates to a 
folder (which can contain Contact info for instance) are propagated 
between publisher and subscriber via email messages.  Permissions can be 
configured such that subscribers can add entries and publish them back.

A company I used to work for used this feature to maintain a corporate 
contact list.  It seemed to work well enough, but I can't speak for it's 
security model.

Still, something that people might want to look into if they need to share 
contact info that isn't in the SME Server's LDAP directory.
