Further testing has proven '*@*' does not work either :-< This blocks sending to undefined external addresses. The '*' magical implementation is a pain because it overrides rule order sequence. However, I believe I have the 'beginnings' of an effective mailrules implementation for SME5.5/5.6: http://myezserver.com/downloads/mitel/alpha/mailrules/ As suggested by the location, consider this alpha and highly experimental for non-production testing only. I fully expect this may break something so use at your own risk! I have tested internal mail and outbound mail delivery only. I have NOT tested external inbound mail. I'm releasing early hoping the devinfo community will take a look and provide further testing and ideas (or code) for enhancement.
