I don't like my "DHCP 3 hack" that much, but I know it works. It has at least one problem: all names will be lost when you create a "self" host in server-manager. Better integration with SME would require that named db files don't automatically get populated with pc-xxxx names. And it should be packaged as a variant of e-smith-named. I'll try to help any volunteer who wants to improve it, but I can't guarantee I'll do the work.
