Are you using Windows 2000? Turn the node's priority down to "Below Normal" in
task manager (it's listed as java.exe). It'll still use all your free CPU,
but with the priority drop it shouldn't interfere with the rest of your
system. I do that, and it works fine for me (and my computer is slower than
an Athlon 750).
Does this happen for anybody else? I'm usually only logging a 4-5 lines per
minute at "minor", but my node still uses 100% cpu for hours on end, even for
periods where it isn't using the network. Does anyone know where all the
cycles are going?
Also, should we launch the node at reduced priority in future versions of the
Windows installer?
