Well, I disagree with your position. I think that not distributing
the collection classes is a pointless statement and not worth having to 1)
rewrite the RDF code to not use them, 2) find some RDF code that doesn't
use them and rewrite the code which relies on the old RDF code, or 3)
remove the RDF code, breaking the key indices and forcing us to come up
with our own non-standard method for attaching metadata to keys.
Of course if someone wants to do 1 or 2 then by all means, go for it,
though I think that the cost in code stability isn't worth it.
I should mention that the collection classes only need to be packaged if
the user has a 1.1 JRE, so could only be included in a special
distribution. This is not so nearly offensive to the free software
extremists as when we had a special distribution that included an entire
JRE, though no one piped up about not distributing non-free software then.
