Rubbish.  I advocate telling users what is happening, making them jump
through pointless hoops will not explain what the issues are to them,
telling them what the issues are will.

I know what Freenet is, yet I would find it rather difficult to obtain a
single initial Freenet node without spamming this list or relying on a
centralized seed node (such as those mentioned on Freegle).
