Shame about that. It would have been good.

Double-slashes are a total pain.
There's lots of excellent existing software - windows AND LINUX, which
censors out double-slashes in URLs.
Not so bad on the Linux side, where source is generally available and can be
patched,
But very painful with Windows, where most progs don't have source.

May I please again plead, beg, scream, shout:

"FOR GOD'S SAKE GET RID OF THAT FUCKING DOUBLE-SLASH MSK SYNTAX"

Replace it with something that's legal in filenames and won't be frigged
with by half the available software!

In stubbornly clinging to the double-slash, you're all guilty of what you
accused me of with the early FreeWeb releases (with the dot-free pseudo
domain) - you accused me of acting like M$ and imposing an exclusive
standard.

No different with the double slashes guys.

PLEASE change it!!!!

David
