Hello,

I've got an idea to make Freenet nodes more difficult to filter.

Freenet data transfers between hosts are encrypted and AFAIK impossible to track down,
but let's suppose the Freenet node is running on a box which is behind some advanced
filtering hardware that filters all non-recognizable outgoing communication.

That means any strange data the filtering machine is not able to identify as a common
protocol
will be filtered. I know, such a method is pure fascism but some ISPs could come to
this.

My idea is to incorpore code from the well-known program httptunnel
(http://www.nocrew.org/software/httptunnel.html) in order to make freenet transmissions
appear like http requests. This way such a filtering software wouldn't stop the
freenet node
from working correctly.

Regards,
