While the subject of the installer is being discussed, I thought I'd mention that the behavior of the install generated by the distribution servlet is not what the "Node Distribution System" download page would lead you to believe.
Under "Installation Instructions" is says: "Download the Installation Zipfile and unzip. On Windows, run install.exe..." However, there is no install.exe in the ZIP or the distribution directory. There is a freenet-webinstall.exe, but this installer just downloads the latest freenet.jar and seednodes.ref from hawk, which kinda defeats the purpose. I looked through the Contrib and freenet modules from CVS and neither contained an install.exe I could add to my distribution directory or an obvious way I could build one from linux. I also downloaded a freenet.zip from Matthew's servlet and got the same set of files I get from mine. Is there any proposed fix for this? -- I felt that we two might commit some act so atrocious that the world, seeing us, would find it irresistible. -Gene Wolf Homepage: http://danky.com Get Freenet: http://groovy.danky.com:8891/Agfb8uBUcB8/ PGP Key: http://danky.com/keys/danello.pgp
