I am running 6194 on Linux with Sun's latest jvm. I have been noticing
something odd about inserts. Lately I have been trying to insert a 130M
file. The insert runs for a while, inserts a dozen blocks, then seems to
hang. I let it sit there for a good while and it makes no progress. I
eventually cancel the insert and restart. It inserts the same dozen blocks
then almost instantly 30 or so more and then appears to hang. It seems
pretty unlikely that it would have inserted those 30 blocks that fast. I
suspect they were already in the network and my last insert session was
simply never notified that they were successfully inserted but they met
with collisions on the second attempt. The second attempt runs for a
while, hangs, I stop it, restart, and suddenly I'm a bunch more blocks
ahead. I think I can reproduce this but it is such a long tedious process
it's kinda hard to be sure.
