This has been discussed before, but it feels right to raise the matter again.
I'd like to ask that FCP be updated to transparently handle splitfiles. It makes absolutely no sense to require all clients to implement splitfiles functionality. Surely the splitfiles standard is sufficiently settled now that the burden can be taken off the client.
