What you describe, is not scalable or decentralized, nor particularly anonymous. Perhaps the greatest problem is that it simply would not work. A capitalistic model does not work in a situation where supply is always greater than demand. Because CPU time and time to store a file on your disk is wasted if it is unused, and there is always spare capacity on the network, someone will always underbid you, and the cost for all resources drops to zero.
However that is not to say that the above issues cannot be overcome. It IS possible to have a decentralized, scalable, anonymous, and workable economic model. In fact such a model already exists. Read some of the documentation for the GnuNet project. They have a working implementation of a very good economic model. Freenet could (and probably should) adopt their system, however right now developers are busy with other things. So if you want to read their whitepapers/code and try to put it into Freenet (or put up money for someone else to do it), go for it. _______________________________________________ Devl mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://dodo.freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/devl
