Stable worked a long time for me, but since the first 500x releases it totally broke. I tried to reseed it and to tweak all settings, but it didn't help. After my node was nearly dead for 3 weeks I decided to switch to unstable, and on the same day I was able to retrieve freesites again (I don't use frost or anything like that, just surfing freesites). But now I really have enough of freenet. The last thing I expected on a free speech network ist to get forced on an other network without a warning or choice. Maybe I'll look in what state it is in 6 months or so, but I wouldn't bet on it.
