I quote my email from 1 hour and 19 minutes ago: "That will be easy".
When you asked "How hard is it just to restore the installer to the way it
was before?" I felt it was necessary to clarify exactly what you meant.

Downloading from a different URL won't make the installer less transparent.
There's much clicking to do to install Java using any flavour of installer.
