How exactly should we package Freenet 0.7? I2P uses launch4j to create executable jars for Windows. On Windows, you just run them; on Linux, java -jar installer.exe.
But that still leaves us with the question of the rest of the install process. I would like to have as little as possible in native code. 0.7 will have a configuration servlet so that you can do the configuration on the fly; minimally, we could have the jar install a node with the default settings and wait for the user to connect via a browser (or even open one), at which point we ask him/her about disk space and bandwidth usage. But it might be better to have a nice GUI installer, since this is what people expect.
