Now that Opennet again looks like it's in the cards for the near
future, I'm shutting down Ubernode.org, to encourage a better network
topography.
It's been an interesting experiment- People /want/ a way to connect
freely, without having to go through their friends. I'm just no
longer sure that providing them one is a good idea, under the current
network infrastructure.
If anyone is interesting in setting up a similar system (particularly
the node ranking, which people seemed to enjoy), the code that
powered Ubernode.org is available.
