We could detect how many parallel connections the browser is using, but the problem is an HTTP compliant browser should pipeline requests, (which few do), and use very few connections per server (which firefox does)... ideally we'd have a plugin, which could certainly be detected, but then people start exchanging raw freenet: url's and compatibility gets to be a pain...
