Hey! documenting pieces of code, which does not belong to you, can be really really painful (according to my personal experience of course)
I wanted to suggest the renewal of the whole web interface (as I did last GSoC): The idea is to work with templates instead of generating HTML output inside Java. Another issue, which I would consider important is performance. On my machine at least, freenet requires a relatively high share of resources.
