So are you talking about evil nodes then? That's an entirely different
subject and has nothing to do with flashiness and coolness. The solution
to the evil node problem is to form a close-knit group of trusted nodes
and never talk to unknown nodes. In order to link the groups together into
a single network you can expose one of them to a public node (the others
are still protected this way) or you can communicate with other groups via
an anonymous broadcast method. This sort of method is too inefficient to
be used as the basis for the network as a whole, but might be acceptable
to use merely as a bridge between more efficient trusted networks.
